Korean Jindo Health
The Korean Jindo is a relatively healthy breed, with a life expectancy of 12 years plus.
Very few health problems have been reported, but we do recommend all breeding stock is eye tested, and has a full DNA screening with Embark.
The Embark test will give a true coefficient of inbreeding, which is vital information when dealing with a small gene pool, along with testing for over 210 genetic conditions, that appear in other breeds
At the present time there are no breed specific conditions that can be tested for, but Embark retest every sample, when a new genetic marker is found, so the one test lasts a lifetime. Although the results may not be relevant to the breed at the present time, the information we gather now could prove vital in the future.
